Ryan Payton Leaves Kojima Productions

Aug. 26 4:02 PM by Dylan Duarte

Ryan Payton, the Assistant Producer at Kojima Productions, has left the developer to work closer to his family in the US. He made the decision after being "hit with some pretty heavy news concerning my mom" and deciding that he needs to spend more time with his family.

Read more after the break.

Payton says that it's hard to leave the MGS team, but feels that it's fate. When asked about cherished memories, he recalls the MGS4 launch in Hollywood and the 500+ passionate Metal Gear Solid fans lined up to get autographs.

He also briefly mentions Metal Gear Solid 5:

"It'll be hard not being involved in MGS5, but I've got the utmost confidence that Hideo Kojima, Ken Imaizumi, and our amazing team will put together another blockbuster game. I'll be cheering from the sidelines."

Whatever his family issues may be, we here at OMG Metal Gear (and I'm sure everyone at Gamepro) wish him the very best in his personal and professional life.
