We learned a couple weeks back that the Metal Gear franchise will live on, but that Snake's saga is done. Series creator Hideo Kojima sat down with Reuters recently to discuss his involvement in the future of the franchise. Hit the jump to find out what he said.
"MGS will always be around. I feel a responsibility to continue this series as long as users demand it. But it doesn't mean I'm going to sit in completely. I'll probably take a different role in the next game. Maybe I'll sit in as producer and let the young staff take control of the new series. I really want to go on to new things."
I think this is the best way to handle things. I'm really eager to see what someone new can come up with, but I want Kojima there to make sure they don't mess it up too bad.

It probably works out for the better that way for Kojima. I mean, for over a decade, he's pretty much worked nonstop on Metal Gear, and is probably burnt out of it.
Besides Zone of the Enders, and Boktai (and probably a few others), I don't think he's really gotten away from MGS much.
Yeah, MGS has pretty much taken up his time for two decades now. And while I'll miss the Kojima-driven Metal Gear, I'm excited to see what he'll do next.
