It's a good day to live in Japan. And speak Japanese. If you do both of those things, you're good to go. The original Metal Gear Solid is now available on the Japan Playstation store under the title Metal Gear Solid: Solid Snake.

This video is great for people who are interested in Metal Gear Solid 4 but haven't played the preceding adventures. The video presents the Metal Gear Saga as a time line beginning with Big Boss' rise to glory and ending with his death at the hands of his son, Solid Snake. This video was translated by the folks over at MetalGearSolid.org. Head to their site and help them get their hosting back and maybe they'll translate Parts 2 and 3 of this 20th Anniversary video.
This week VG Cats takes a shot at Metal Gear Online and Ocelot's questionable gestures. As always head to VG Cats to read the whole comic and the rest of their archives!
Ever wonder what it's going to be like playing as Snake in Smash Bros Brawl? VG Cats wonders the same thing in this week's featured webcomic. As usual head to VG Cats to see the comic and the rest of their archives!
We all know that Kojima loves to tease the fans. In MGS2, players were dismayed to discover that they spent most of the game in the role of a novice pretty-boy who was more interested in a spat with his girlfriend than in getting the job done. All the while, Snake moved through the background, doing deeds worthy of a hero.
But in MGS4, Snake is an old man suffering from fatigue and decay. Raiden, on the other hand, is the latest cyborg ninja, dancing nimbly among hordes of Gekkou, the Metal Gear derivatives employed by Ocelot's PMCs, and facing off against Vamp in hand-to-hand combat. However, it's been made clear that Raiden will not be playable in this game.
So the question is: Will MGS4 do the unthinkable and make us wish we could play as Raiden?
This weeks featured comic comes from VG Cats.
Instead of reading my impressions, I think you'd best head to VG Cats and just read it.
A little-known detail of the Metal Gear series is that Sigint of Metal Gear Solid 3 and Metal Gear Solid's DARPA Chief, Donald Anderson, are the same man.

This weeks entry is titled: "Analysts Lie."
"You take back what you said about me!!"
